“U13’s in County Cup Clash”

Hinckley Under 13’s sponsored by JC Remedials and Sapcote Fish and Chip Shop, faced Market Harborough in the second round of their County Cup this weekend.
From the kick off Hinckley were caught asleep and Harborough went ahead in the first minute with a try and conversion. The game settled for a while with Hinckley forwards dominating the scrums but just couldn’t get the ball out to the backs. Good rugby was on display from both teams but Harborough just had the edge. Harborough then scored but didn’t manage to convert - just before half time, which ended Hinckley 0 - Harborough 12.
In the second half Hinckley continued to play well but just couldn’t break the defence. Harborough then punished Hinckley with another try which was converted to make the final score Hinckley 0 - Market Harborough 19.
A disappointing result for this Hinckley team who will continue to improve.

The Williams Recycling sponsored Under 14’s continued their County Cup Semi-Final build up, with an away fixture against Tamworth. Hinckley dominated, but Tamworth put on a committed performance and never dropped their heads, earning a consolation try in the second half. Hinckley’s scores were notched up by Cook (4), Redhead (3), Abelson (2), Cull, and Lally, with Lally also completing 4 conversions.
The Under 14’s now look forward, next Sunday, 20th January to their County Cup Semi-Final against last year’s holders Market Bosworth, at Market Bosworth. This will be a repeat of last year’s final, and the Hinckley youngsters appreciate the numerous messages of support received, willing them to end the headline grabbing record of their Bosworth opponents.
