“U13's and U14’s against Nuneaton”

Hinckley Under 13's sponsored by JC Remedials and Stoney Stanton Fish and Chip Shop, played at Nineaton. A strong start by Nuneaton to gain good possession to take the early lead with a score and conversion. Nuneaton continued to be strong but Hinckley defended well. Nuneaton soon scored again but failed to convert. Nuneaton continued to push Hinckley and were again rewarded with a try but no conversion. They were then reduced to 14 men but still dominated much of the play and scored a try and converted just before half time, making the score Nuneaton 24 Hinckley 0.
The second half started better for Hinckley after a change of players and positions but Nuneaton still managed to score a try under the posts, which was converted. This was quickly followed by their sixth try, which they failed to convert. Hinckley then work well to obtain a well deserved try from Mechin, which was not converted. The final score Nuneaton 36 Hinckley 5.

Meanwhile at Hinckley, the Under 14’s sponsored by Williams Recycling and Promet Steel, enjoyed an end to end game against Nuneaton this weekend and played a much more open and flowing game, with winger Cull notching up a hat-trick in the first half. Nuneaton tested Hinckley on several occasions, earning a converted try and penalty for their efforts. Stalemate resulted in the second half with neither side able to convert their possession into a score, with the match cut slightly short due to an injury to a Nuneaton player – who receives the Hinckley squad’s best wishes for a speedy recovery. Final score Hinckley 15 – Nuneaton 8. Hinckley’s Man of the Match award went to Simpson for his commitment the breakdown.
