“Under 10s get runners up in the Bowl at Burnham-on-Sea”

Hinckley Under 10’s sponsored by AMG, Thermoskin and 600 Services went on Tour to Burnham-on-Sea and put in some great performances in the Festival of rugby to end up as runners up in the Bowl competition. The tour sponsor was Fuji Film.

Hinckley dominated their opening game, but failed to score in their opening game with Cobham Cavaliers which was drawn 0-0. Reeves was Man of the Match and Rowe was Tackler of the Match. Hinckley won their next game against Redingensians Tourists 5-0 with a try from Baker, who was also was Man of the Match and James was Tackler of the Match. Hinckley then drew 0-0 with Bromley in a tight affair. Croasdale was Man of the Match and Houghton was Tackler of the Match. They then went down 5-15 to group winners Cwmbran with a try from Baker. Collings was Man of the Match and Ames was Tackler of the Match. On the second day they started strongly with a superb 15-10 victory over Painswick with tries from Cambell & 2 from Baker. Campbell was Man of the Match and Stretton was Tackler of the Match. In a tense final group match they drew 5-5 with Maidenhead, with a try from Rowe to qualify for the Bowl competition. Stretton was Man of the Match and Cammiss was Tackler of the Match. Hinckley lost an early score in the Final and were kept on the back foot as they went down 0-15 to Old Rutlishians. Collings was Man of the Match and Houghton was Tackler of the Match. Reeves was named Player of the Tournament for his tireless work up front. James was named Tackler of the Tournament. The whole team can be proud of themselves for their performances over an enjoyable Bank Holiday week-end.
